๐ช๐ผ๐ฟ๐น๐ฑ ๐ ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ต ๐๐ฎ๐ 2020 is the most important one yet.
This year has been a tough one for all of us. With everything going on in the world – the pandemic, the lockdown, and the losses we’ve all experienced, these all have a huge impact on our mental health.
This is why prioritizing our mental health has never been more important.
โค๏ธ My go-to activity to keep my mental health in check is meditation and yoga.

Yoga’s benefits for your mental health
From measurable transformations both at a physiological and psychological level to balancing the body, mind, and soul, there is no better healer and nurturer than the art of yoga.
โค๏ธ Yoga increases body awareness, relieves stress, reduces muscle tension, strain, and inflammation, sharpens attention and concentration, and calms and centers the nervous system.
โค๏ธ Aside from being a great mood-booster, you learn to be more aware of yourself, to respond, and not react to external factors.
โค๏ธ Any exercise can help you become stronger and leaner but thereโs something special about yoga that helps you appreciate yourself and your body on another level. Heart-opening yoga poses basically force you to be vulnerable and fully open. Yoga teaches you to push yourself but at the same time know when to honor your body.
โค๏ธ Balance is the key to everything. Having balance means that you have a handle on the different elements in your life. When you have balance in your life, you are living with peace and harmony every single day.
โค๏ธ When all else fails, breathe through the moment. Breathing helps you through the most difficult yoga poses and when practiced outside the mat, breathing helps you stay focused and remain calm under challenging times.

In conclusion
Yoga is much more than the fancy poses or a form of exercise. Many yogis are surprised to find a myriad of ways that yoga can positively influence their life. The more you get on the mat, the more you learn about yourself, others, and the world around you.
โจ Whatever you’ve been through this year, #worldmentalhealthday2020 is a chance to make a positive change for your mental health.
